Winter’s Embrace: Closing the Year with Reflection
// How are you ACTUALLY doing right now, mama?
Close your eyes, place your hands on your heart and listen to your body.
The energy I’ve been feeling from mothers in my life right now is OVERWHELM.
I feel it too. The busy hustle & bustle of the holidays and another year ending with dark days can leave us feeling depleted.
How can you to invite more of what you body is actually craving right now?
Seasonally, winter is dark and moody. It invites us to go inward, to retreat and to reflect on another year passed.
Is this energy calling you?
If so, I invite you to explore this rhythm in your days.
WINTER // DECEMBER // DEATH // ClOSING // REFLECTION
It can start with just the simple decision to try it on.
Small decisions that add up over time and rejuvenate your being, and ground you in everything that you’ve already accomplished.
A slow unplanned mornings with your kids sprinkled in here, and afternoon of reflection journaling there.
((Or maybe even saying no to dishes and watching Merry Gentleman on Netflix))
You’ve done so much this year, mama.
How can you look back and celebrate the growth, the lesson and defining moments that shaped you this year?
Here are five journal prompts to guide you on how to reflect on another year passed with gratitude and contentment:
1 // Recall a magical moment of love and connection with your child(ren), family or friends. What made it so special? How can you intentionally create more of these moments moving forward?
2 // List up to 5 accomplishments - big or small - that you’re proud of this year. Did you take the time to celebrate yourself for these? (If no, how can you take a moment to acknowledge what you’ve done?)
3 // What were some challenges from this year that have contributed to my growth? How did these experiences shape my perspective?
4 // When was a time this year when I felt most like my authentic self? What was I doing? What helped to support this feeling?
5 // As the year closes and I intentionally move into 2025, the one word that I feel called to anchor into is _______. Why?
Sending you love and light,
Carolyn
